Biography

 

Born 1964 in Frankfurt/Main, Germany. Studies literature and politics in Frankfurt and Siegen, working on Dada Reception with Prof. Karl Riha (Siegen). Since the mid-80ies publications in literature magazines, national and international anthologies, radio/ tv performances & interviews. writing prose, poetry, essay. Influenced by the avantgarde from Dada, Surrealists, Fluxus, Beatpoets to modern electronic sound-poetry.

Mainly interested in performance literature, spoken word/ slam poetry, sound poetry. Collaborations with rock- and jazz-musicians as well as djs and electronic musicians. Founder of a soundpoetry group and of the improvising jazz-poetry performance project "SOUNDS LIKE POETRY?"

Solo-Performances and Festivals all over Europe and US (Beat the book US tour 2004, Antibodies US Tour 2009). Participant of international Poetry Festivals (eg. Poetry International, Dornbirn Austria - Poetry International/ Pontes Festival - Krk, Croatia/ Poesie bez Granic - Polanica Zdroj, Poland, Las Bas Performance Festival - Helsinki, Finland, Revox - Barcelona, Spain, Playing with words - Frankurt, Germany, LiteraTurm Festival Frankfurt, Germany)
Performances, lectures and workshops on performance poetry at schools and universities in Germany and Croatia (Zagreb/Krk).

Curating/Organizing

1994/95 hosting a monthly show for young poetry at Romanfabrik, Frankfurt

1996 -98 hosting a monthly poetry show and the first Poetry Slams (1996) at Club Voltaire, Frankfurt

Since 1997 Host of a monthly poetry radio show at the Frankfurt independent "Radio X".

1997/98 organizing/hosting the Festival of independent literature at Gallus Theater, Frankfurt

Since 1998 hosting the FRANKFURT POETRY SLAM at the University of Applied Science, Frankfurt.

2002-2006 curating the "Poets Corner" at Frankfurts biggest Open Air Festival at the Main River (Museumsuferfest - ca 4 Mio Visitors)

Co-Host of German National Poetry Slam 2003 in Frankfurt and Darmstadt, www.slam2003.de

2003 - 2005 curating and hosting a Spoken Word show at schauspielfrankfurt (city theater)

2003 - 2007 curating, organizing poetry shows, poetry slam & poetry workshop for the regional Poetry Festival, Hessische Literaturtage (Hessen Poetry Days)

2007 - 2010 curating a monthly poetry/art/music-show at different locations (clubs, gallerys, jail)

since 2007 hosting the poetry slam for kids (u20 Poetry Slam) & workshops at Mousonturm, Frankfurt

since 2008 regular performance poetry workshop for students at the University of Applied Science

2009 curating and hosting the international Sound Art Festival "Playing with words" at Gallus Theater Frankfurt (in cooperation with CRiSAP Institute, London)

2009 curating and hosting the 1. Frankfurter Lesebuehnen Festival (a national Festival for Poetry Stages)

curating and hosting many more single events at clubs, theaters, galleries, museums (e.g., Goethe-Haus, Staedel Art Institute, Schirn Kunsthalle)

1993-94, 1999-2006 Member of the regional Hessian board of the German Writers Union/ VS Verband deutscher Schriftsteller
